I'm creating an open forum. We are already starting to brainstorm and work on planning out Era 2 for N90. We have 8 seasons to go, and that could be resolved within the year.
So, lay it on us. Let us know what you think could be exciting for Era 2. It's not guaranteed all or even any suggestions will be used. But we are open to hearing out ideas, even ones you think aren't fully fleshed out, to see if we can pull something interesting from it to use to make Era 2 enjoyable and fun for everyone.

This is not a suggestion, just a question (that I think I already know the answer to) How would people feel about Era 2 being a PR league? As in have a salary cap? 🤔🤨 I'll pose the age old question to you... If it ain't broke, why fix it? 🤷 There's very few of these keeper leagues left, so why change something that is a) actually working, and b) something that has actually become unique again in the hockey sim community. It just doesn't make any sense really. |

I like this league the way it is. I feel more on top of things here than in the other two leagues, mainly bc of the pace. But that's mainly reflective of the fact I'm not nearly as active as I once was.

My actual suggestions would be re-rating certain players, mainly Dman
I'd also edit some of the 'retired then come back players'
Have Jagr be a 95 up to 08, then come back as an 83-85 ish guy for 11-18? Lemieux is a more drastic example of this.
Maybe do a planned expansion at one point too - I know we don't have the bodies for each team to have an individual GM, but it seems we have enough interest for guys with two teams. I'd probably just add the one team to even up the conferences, maybe 3 to make all things even. I'd be cool having to manage a known expansion, where those teams come in at once or at certain periods.
This is just an idea, but maybe undrafted players come in as UFAs instead of via the draft. Would help the UFA crop. Would just need to stay consistent with what we're doing in this area off the bat.

Well, these keeper leagues are more conducive to expansion drafts than cap leagues. It would pretty easy to do, provided the simulator allows extension.

It would be cool if we could set players up to where they have to play on a specific line. Any player could go higher if necessary, but none can go lower than their minimum.
88+ minimum - 2nd line
85+ minimum - 3rd Line
That would prevent some teams from getting super stacked, it would cause more trades, and possibly make FA more interesting due to needing to cut players to fill their lines. Plus it would add to the fact a star player wouldn't want to be on someone's 3rd line just cuz they have 6+ 90 overalls

So we have had some GOOD on-paper teams drafting first-overall in our drafts. Many times. So limiting those teams from trying to get better is problematic. |
