Accepted. Moving a player I really don’t like (Crosby) for one of my favorite players (St. Louis) and a good package more.

remembr how wings posted his offers so people could see leadin offers and decid if they wanted to be better?
this trade didnt do that. hopefuly not a horrible decisionn considering ur trading the best playr on the site for the rest of the site and didnt even bothr to actually push for the best offer u could.
wings got more for malkin than u did for crosby by keeping everythin private.

I knew if I was moving Crosby I wanted a player I loved in return. Martin St Louis was a player I LOVED as a kid, and the opportunity to get him as part of this deal was a big deal for me. I’m happy with this return - upgrading a BUNCH of positions and adding some picks as well is a big thing for me. Honestly, there’s only a few players I wanted as much as Marty and it would’ve taken a LOT otherwise

Who are all the players? I would also be curious what your targeted guys would be.

At first this seemed not-great, but passable, but then it's like...wait. Literally noone will be better than Crosby between now and the end of this era, and the return only has 1 guy over 90. And he isn't even over 90? And a good, but not elite defenceman? Plus Parenteau tossed in as an added insult to the whole thing?
I know MTL is after specific players, but I feel like the once-in-a-generation talents should be shopped a little better than "I like a 90, 10YR, so he can be the centrepiece of a Sidney Crosby trade".
I think to really see how bad this is, and to see the scale-spread between Crosby and the rest of this trade, let's see what it looks like when we drop 10 overalls from everyone's rating:
87 74
for
80 78 77 73 picks
Conclusion, a 7 overall spread when 90-overall players are involved is huge.

This really isn't a fair example, if we did it by 20 I would be clearly losing the trade. The ratio isn't correct. I'm not going to argue either way, two blocks have been posted and I copied and pasted my overpayment offer for Malkin for the most recent one and we went from there.

If y’all want to shoot this one down go for it - I’m not gonna lie it’s a little annoying when both of us are satisfied in the trade but it is what it is. I’m honestly worried I’ll never be able to trade Crosby for what he’s “worth” at this point so I guess I’ll probably end up sitting on him

If Buffalo added his first this year which to this point seems a guaranteed top 5 pick, that would probably put it into a more easily digestible trade.
My first take on the trade is that I wasn't a fan of it. I also agree that while he was "shopped" he wasn't really shopped. I also don't want to stop teams from acquiring guys they really like or block trades. We've had that convo on here ad nauseum.
I'd say if Sabres adds his first this year, we can approve it and off we go.

No, I'm not adding a lottery pick to this with 5 studs sitting there. Also not going to be a situation where someone else GM's the trade for me. This is fair value whether others are a fan of it or not. There has been two Crosby blocks for other GMs to post their offers. Some did and I PM'd my Malkin offer to him, which I barely wanted to do (you can ask DET how that went down).
If anything this should turn into a league decision, not shut down by admins.

Is there anything else you're willing to add? Something that isn't some random 84 overall player?
I'm not trying to GM your trade, I'm trying to help you guys get the players you want without a team that just won the lottery literally moving the highest rated player on the site for middling pieces.
Would you uprade Briere to Gaborik? Would you add another future first?
If the trade stays as it is, it won't go through.
