Go ahead I guess, I honestly don't really care. You've already rejected this without any other league takes. I just sign on nowadays when I can and really don't want to deal with this sort of drama. The deal is fair in our view, but it isn't very enjoyable when this is supposed to be a casual league. It kind of feels like it happens to me a lot here, but that is what is it.

The deal should be evaluated as 'is this fair' not 'would he have gotten more by stressing this and that etc like I would have done.' He posted two blocks, I offered what I offered for Malkin, which was a massive overpayment.

Whatever happens happens, I think I'll be taking a bit of a break. I have enough going on in my life that I don't want to deal with sim league trade drama

I mean, you could leave it up to the league to decide the outcome of the trade instead of solely yourself, especially with two vet GMs. 

I said I wanted to take a break. I don't want to make a deal where I finally acquire a top end guy after 15 seasons to just have to turned down because others felt they would have given more, even though noone offered on said block that was posted. 

I already PM'd MTL to re-negotiate, but no I'm not just throwing in 1sts, likely a 88-91ish player, just cause. 

This package is comparable to what was accepted for Teemu + Pronger, if you want to make the league decide, that's one thing, it's another to have 1-2 admins just shut it down on a casual site.

I'm not rejecting it because there might be some mysterious deal out there that's better.

I'm rejecting it because it's a weak deal. I'm glad you guys are re-negotiating it. I'll throw this thread into the rejection, and I'm looking forward to seeing the improved deal and hope it gets worked out asap for both of you

I get that these things can be annoying but we have basically 2 trade mods on the site, the admins, and we don't include everyone else because we actively try and let things just go through, unless we both don't like it, then we encourage teams try again.

We've had a lot of moments on the site where teams have posted "Take 2" on deals they work out, and I'm hopeful the same will happen here.

Not every trade we've put through has been perfect, but we've tried, on paper, for it to make sense. This one, for both of us, felt like it didn't make that much sense, and felt if Habs put more effort into either negotiating with you or being patient, that this could work out more even for him.

I believe that deal can be had between the two of you. It's just not this one, specifically.

I changed my stance when I was hoping you would adjust something and I pulled it back to pending but now that I know you guys are officially renegotiating it I put it back into rejected for now. Sorry about the confusion on that front.

We’re renegotiating it, but I think we’re both kinda over the whole thing. We’re both satisfied with the move as was but I guess that won’t fly.

I’m honestly concerned that no matter the trade I find it won’t be enough for Crosby. Doesn’t matter who I target or what I come up with - what he’s “worth” won’t match what anyone is willing to give up for him. Hell, I almost regret drafting him - something I NEVER expected to say about a 97 overall.

I drafted Crosby for the exact reason of trading him for one of my favorite players - and now I’m not sure that’ll ever work. I love Steve Stamkos, but when the 2008 draft rolls around and he’s a 93 overall, Will I be able to trade for him with Crosby? Or will I be expected to also get an absurd amount with him?

To me, a players value is what people are willing to give up for him. To me this was my favorite offer, so to me this was his value. Guess I get to go back to the drawing board again and figure out how to trade Sidney Crosby.

This site's more of a "hobby" sim league where we kinda get our nostalgia fix in. I think most of us are here to collect players we like. Shit, we allowed Edmonton to claim like 10 players over the league limit at one point.
