When the pick was acquired, we didn't know where it would fall and trading him a number 1 goaltender should have boosted his team's performance, but they still need work, obviously.
That said, there isn't many good goaltenders coming into the league for the next few seasons, and when we make trades, we take assumed risk that we don't botch it. Otherwise we'd be running around fixing every decision everyone has made.
