Game Summary:
The Oilers first 40 minute game is legit. But the Lightning keep adapting each game. This time, the Oilers physically beat up on them. 2 goals in the first 10 minutes for Tampa, and the Oilers went a little nutty. A LOT of after the whistle stuff, and it started to pay off. Stastny, Havlat and Forsberg had the Oilers up 3-2. But then disaster struck. Shanahan got under the skin of Heatley in another post-whistle scrum, and Heatley reacted with a violent slash that earned him a game misconduct. The Lightning failed to score on the powerplay, but shortly after Shanahan got his revenge on the scoreboard to tie the game. The Lightning came alive. St. Louis scored a minute later, and the period went back and forth until Kubina tied it late in the period.
In the third, Lemieux came out flying with a goal, then Malone. Liles tried to stop the bleeding, and St. Louis came right back. Byfuglien had a sneaky blast from the point to make it a 1 goal game, but with Rask pulled, Kaberle blocked a point shot and scored an empty netter to seal the victory. Final shots were 36-29 for the Lightning. 37 penalty minutes. Stastny had 3 points in the loss. Kaberle got first star with a 3 point performance. The Lightning are 1 win away from their first ever Stanley Cup.

Game Summary:
This was just a back and forth whirlwind affair, and both teams special teams were on point. More after the whistle work, and the Oilers went 2 for 6, while the Bolts went 3 for 5 on the powerplay. Both teams traded the lead across the first 40 minutes before Naslund and Fedorov put Tampa up by 2, but two goals within 3 SECONDS of each other by Kovalchuk and Heatley's hat trick goal tied it up to force overtime.
Corvo took an interference penalty and that looked to seal the Bolts fate for their first loss these playoffs, but after just a minute killing it off, Kovalchuk took a terrible tripping penalty when the Bolts tried to break out. On the powerplay, Weight found Malone, Malone found Kariya, and the Mighty Mouse scored the Stanley Cup winning goal to finally clinch the glory for the Tampa Bay Lightning!
Final shots were 38-35 for the Oilers. Heatley had a hat trick for the Oilers to cap off his amazing post-season performance. Markus Naslund took first star for his 2 goals and 2 assists in the game.
What a heroic way to win. It's too bad the Lightning couldn't do it at home, but this is the most dominant run in N90 history.
