NORRIS
1. vs. 4.
The Good:
- Highest goal differential (+92) in the league
- Won President's Trophy
- 5 Players with 30+ goals (Brind'Amour, Guerin, Bondra, Cullen, LeClair)
The Bad:
- Finished season on a 4 game losing streak.
- 4-6-0 in last 10 games
- Garth Snow let in 44 goals in the last 7 games, 6.28 GAA
The Good:
- Finished season with 6-3-1 record and lowest PIM average per game
- Joe Nieuwendyk won Richard Trophy with 46 goals
- Michel Goulet 8 game point streak (6G 10A 16PTS)
The Bad:

The Bad:
- Yzerman, Lidstrom and Makarov combined for +4 on the year, let in as many goals as they score
- Vernon has let in 28 goals in last 5 starts, 5.6 GAA
- Have to outscore their issues
The Good:
- Bellows, Sundstrom and Ronning emerge as unexpected dynamic line (combined 238 points)
- Despite being benched to 4th line, all 3 scored 30+ goals
- Roman Turek's solid goaltending 0.864SV% and 3.63GAA,
The Bad:
- Not very good at tanking, finished year at 7-3-0... oh wait, that's good!
- If Turek isn't on fire, goaltending will be very shakey

ADAMS

The Good:

- Finished the year 7-3-0 on a 2 game winning streak
- The emergence of Richer, Savard, and Vaive line
The Bad:
- 2nd worst team for most penalties on average
- Middling/Low special teams success
- Guy Carbonneau's modest 50 points
The Good:
- Benoit Hogue is their best player with 71 points
- An incredible 70 point season by Christian Ruuttu
- They get to sell playoff tickets to a crowd that gets to see a team that finished 3-7-0 on the year and on a 3 game losing streak and a -51 goals differential play some post-season hockey all because Quebec was somehow 1 point worse
The Bad:
- Benoit Hogue is their best player
- The absolute worst team by a mile that actually made the playoffs
- Pittsburgh is upset they are in the wrong division

2. vs. 3.
The Good:
- Holik finished 2nd in the league with 45 goals
- Holik, Ferraro, Francis a stellar top line
- On a 6 game winning streak to close out the season
The Bad:
- No one runs this team so no one can make adjustments on the fly
- Their goaltending, putting it mildly, is pure, aids-riddled, shit
- Suck on the road (15-23-2), so good thing they have home ice advantage
The Good:
- 20-17-3 on the road
- Cam Neely knows how to play hockey, 82 points in 80 games
- Andy Mooge managed to stay above an 0.800 SV%
The Bad:
- 4th worst powerplay, 3rd worst penalty kill... how did they make the playoffs?
- They made the playoffs because even fucking Buffalo made the playoffs
- 12-26-2 at home
PATRICK
1. vs. 4.
The Good:
- Finished 10 points ahead in most difficult division in the league
- 3rd best goals differential (+70), led by excellent scoring depth (9 players with 60+ points)
- Brodeur's stellar 38 win season and top penalty kill in the league
The Bad:
- Not a single PPG player
- Brodeur capped off the year with 36 goals against in last 6 games, 6.00GAA
- Makes all of his trades with New Jersey only
The Good:
- 21-17-2 at home
- Doug Weight's 38 goal 84 point +36 season
- Takes fewest penalties in the league
The Bad:
- Finished the year 4-6-0 on a 3 game losing streak
- Middling powerplay success despite good penalty kill
- If Belfour can't get it done, Vanbiesbrouck's disappointing 0.808SV% season

- Solid and consistent goaltending from Bill Ranford
- Incredible 24-13-3 at home, plus 5 game winning streak to cap off the year
The Bad:
- A disappointing and shakey 60 point campaign by Brett Hull
- 17-21-2 away could pose some significant problems
- Middling special teams offer a bit to be desired
The Good:
- The incredible performances of Kerr (92pts), Renberg (90pts), Mellanby (82pts) and Tocchet (78pts)
- Excellent 24-15-1 record at home and 3rd best penalty kill in the league
- 5th best goals differential in the league (+48)
The Bad:
- 3rd highest penalized team on average in the league
- Bottom 6 powerplay rate
- Shakey goaltending at best from Wregget and Hextall
- Didn't make a single trade or roster decision all year!
