Game Summary:

This game could've gone either way. The first and second period are almost identical. Pens score 1, Leafs score 2, Pens tie it up, repeat. The process changes in the third when Beauchemin squeezes one in, but that's quickly countered by Bertuzzi's early third equalizer. The Leafs went 3/6 on the powerplay, including a disastrous puck over the glass penalty by Mario Lemieux that lead to Shanahan's game winning goal. Leafs outshot the Pens 41-24. Shanahan's 2 goals takes first star.

Game Summary:

Some nights everything goes your way. Other nights, everything goes wrong. Chicago stayed out of the box, but they also basically stayed off the scoresheet. Despite a 10-7 shot first period for Chicago, they closed out the final 40 minutes with just 12 more efforts on net. All of which amounted to nothing. To put it mildy, Vokoun had a brutal night, finishing with a 0.611SV%. Depth scoring secured the victory once again for the Blues, this time with Gionta leading with 2 goals.
