Game Summary:
Pittsburgh chased the game from puck drop to the finish line. They made it interesting at the end to get within 1 in the final 90 seconds, but the Devils were always one step ahead. Lots of whacking and rough stuff throughout set the tone early in this series. Pens outshot the Devils 37-33, and even went 2/3 on the PP, shutting down the Devils special teams. Patrick Roy somehow got first star.

Game Summary:
This was a bit of a whirlwind of offensive action. Leafs with a 4-2 opening frame, Whalers with a 5-4 middle frame, but the Leafs closed it out with 3 straight to end the game. Yzerman (1G, 3A), Hannan (4A), and Damphousse (2G, 1A) led the charge for the Leafs. This was basically anyones game and if it kept going it likely would have been just another full period of crazy goals. This has opened to be a pretty offensive series.

LEADS SERIES 1-0
Game Summary:
So here's the thing. Of course Blues wins. But the fact the Avalanche won a period, let alone kept it close, is pretty impressive. I'm thinking their series against the Flames wasn't a fluke and if the Blues don't keep their A-game going, this could be a very interesting contest. Hal Gill's surprising 4 point effort takes the first star honors. Niedermayer's matching 4 assists helps slot him in for second star. It will be interesting to see how long this series could go.

Game Summary:
The Kings are basically the dark horse in these playoffs. Not a lot of people are paying much attention to them, and they dismantled a very strong Ducks team in round 1. Here, they open the second round with a big win, a strong opening and closing period effort, and a nice fight between Quint and Ricci to boot. Smolinski's 3 point effort for the Hawks was overshadowed by Kovalchuk (2G, 2A) and Blake (1G, 3A) storming the front for the Kings in the Hawks home opener.
