This was not the game Philly wanted. This was exactly the game Washington wanted. Rolston was the target of the game, earning some roughing from Coffey after the whistle to draw a penalty, taking a hook from Nieuwendyk and a slash from Murphy to draw three penalties in the first. He retaliated with a pair of goals in the game, some mounting frustration for the Flyers, and a shutout for Mike Richter to force Game 7.

It was a tough road for Chicago the second the game started. A four goal deficit is not something you want to see after 20 minutes. Chicago made a solid push to get within 1 in the 2nd Period, but they ran out of steam as the Blues potted one more to shut the door on the Blackhawks Cup hopes.
Kevin Dineen continued to be a beacon for the Hawks in these playoffs, but the Blues depth squeezed them by once again for another chance at Lord Stanley.

Back and forth we go again. The Flyers managed to get away from Rolston and stop playing into his game. Rolston and Sweeney had just a shot each and finished the night pointless. Philly fans held their breath in the second period when they started to get into penalty trouble, but a strong PK and Khabibulin in net helped keep the door shut on the specialty teams. All goals were scored at 5 on 5 and Teppo Numminen squeezed a point shot through to spoil the comeback party for the Capitals. The stage is now set for Philly to meet the Blues in the Stanley Cup Finals!
