LEADS 3-1
Talk about a comeback! Down 3-0 by midway through the 2nd, the Flyers were staring down a 2 goal deficit in the third period. Sweeney was back it, opening the scoring for Washington and giving their fans some hope, but Roenick and Messier stepped up in a big way, leading to Roenick's pair of goals to get within 1 and shift momentum. Jason Blake dropped the gloves with Paul Coffey, which only ignited the Flyers to immediately score just 20 seconds later, with Murray popping it in for the equalizer. After that, the rough stuff calmed down, and the Capitals punished Philly with a 17-11 shot period in the third, but amounted to no goals. In overtime, the Flyers kept full possession of the shots (3-0) in overtime, en courte to Johnsson's shot from the point for the overtime winner, sending the Flyers back home to try and close out the series.

SERIES TIED 2-2
Blues kept getting ahead, and then falling apart. Up 1-0, Dineen ties it up. Oates gets the lead, Cassels ties it up. Bonk and Cheechoo help them go up 4-2, then 5-3 with Ozolinsh, and Ricci and Rachunek even it back at 5. Miroslav Satan helped the Hawks go up 1, and the net empty couldn't get the Blues back into the mix as Cullen buried an empty-netter at the buzzer. The Blues outshot the Hawks 20-7 in the 2nd Period, but were held to just 4 shots in the third, with Chicago punishing the offense with an 18-4 period. Vokoun takes first star in this barn burner for having his barn be burned a bit less than Snow's, despite Snow being wet and cold. It really felt like a Bonk on the head for the Blues, but we Cullen'd have it any other way. Satan. We will see if the Hawks can Ricci back into their pockets for another win to add to their Cassels. I'll stop now because I have to eat my Oates. Sometimes I enjoy it with Fish, Souray to say, but sometimes I can't get past the Gill.
