This game was much closer than it seemed. It wasn't until Corson's late period penalty in the third that the Capitals got the upperhand and solidifed the win. The Guerin/Chelios fight swung in Pittsburgh's favor momentarily and it seemed they would get the series tied, but it would be the Capitals staring down the barrel of another Conference Finals instead of the Pens at the end of these 60 minutes.

WINS SERIES 4-0
Until now, the Wild had some solid games, not perfect, all ending in a loss, but competitive battles. This was not one of those games. More surprisingly, they seemed to have given up, with not a single penalty called in the game. The Blues scored 4 goals in the span of 7 minutes and that was the final nail in the coffin for Minnesota's playoff performance. Still a solid playoff appearance after a decade of misery, but fans likely would have prefered a slightly better ending.
Vinny Lecavalier, Vinny Prospal and Cliff Ronning still ended the game even, which is pretty impressive.
Souray earned the game winner and first star for leading his team out of the gate. Modano chipped in a pair of points along the way and the rest was spread out. Blues to the Conference Finals!

SERIES TIED 2-2
The epitome of a back and forth game. Hawks up, then Kings up, then Hawks up, then tied and heading to overtime. When Reinprecht took his penalty in overtime, it seemed like the end was near, but Simon Gagne's penalty killing efforts sprung Sykora for a break to score the winner shorthanded. A big time momentous goal in the Kings history here on NHL90. Time to see if the momentum will stay in their favor as they take their deadlock into Game 5.
