Paul Coffey takes home first star honors in this one. Montreal manages to break through a bit, but the Flyers kept the door mostly shut until the third. Hopefully for Montreal's sake, their 2 goals at the end of the game shows some promise heading into Game 4, but the Flyers will still head home happy with this performance.

LEADS 2-1
Until the third period, this was as even as it can get for an offensive juggernaut showdown. A nice fight at 1-1 in the game between Claude Lemieux and Bill Guerin set the tone for what was to come in this battle. But as the game started to get away from them, the Pens penalty troubles really took their toll, with Sweeney capitalizing on 2 late powerplays to solidify the win for the Capitals. Yannick Tremblay's impressive 3 point game for the Pens was overshadowed by Sweeney's hat trick, and Rolston's 4 point outing. The Caps take the lead in the series.

LEADS 3-0
No matter how this series ends, the Wild have to be proud of themselves. The Blues essentially ran through the piece of shit garbage ass Ducks in Round 1, and here the Wild have at least made each game an individual challenge for the Blues. A late penalty gave some hope for the Wild, but they couldn't capitalize on the man advantage. Gonchar secured the game winner in the third period for the 3-0 series lead putting the Wild on the brink. Owen Nolan's 2 points shine in this game, with Gonchar getting the 1st star for his pair of goals.

LEADS 2-1
After getting blasted out of the arena in game 2, the Hawks battle back doubling up the Kings 8-4. Martin Gelinas gets the game winner midway through the 2nd and the Hawks didn't let up from there. Selanne's 3 point night gets him the first star honors, but this was a complete game, with the Kings still knocking on the door until the end of the 2nd Period. Will be interesting to see if the momentum will carry for Chicago and escape from LA with a commanding lead, or if the Kings will be crowned in game 4.
