The Flyers bounced back from game 1 storming through the gates with a 4 goal opening period, and then put the defensive breaks on for the rest of the game to shut it down and earn Khabibulin his shutout. Messier's 3 point night kept the door locked down, and the Habs earned just 12 shots in the game. A complete and dominating 60 minutes of hockey by the Flyers.

This was not the game Pittsburgh was expecting after their dominating game 1 appearance. Chelios opened the scoring and hushed the crowd, but then the Capitals got to work. A complete effort across the board, only 3 Capitals players didn't register a point in the game. Bill Guerin's 2 goal effort was the difference maker, and some rough stuff with Kevin Stevens couldn't restart the Pens march in this one. Tom Fitzgerald earns the game winner.

Another solid win by the Blues, but the Wild keep the game interesting to the very end. A late penalty by Jason Chimera helpd the Blues even the score, and a last minute holding gaff by Svehla put the nail in the coffin for game 2. We'll see if the Wild can get some motivation when they head home for the next pair of games.

The Kings weren't going to go away quietly and come out storming the front in this one. Only Liles and Smith didn't earn a point in a complete team effort performance. Roman Hamrlik's 2 points earns him top star of the game. The Kings 4-2 opening period didn't let up, with goals in each period en route to a 9-3 win to even the series.
