Game 4 was all Chicago early and often. More depth scoring leading the way, showing the Blues that no matter what line is on, they have to be taken seriously. It's like cutting the head off a snake and two more grow from it. The turning point of the game was Dave Babych's double minor high sticking penalty that the Blues failed to capitalize on. Dino and Selanne combined for 4 points to close out the night and put the Blues on the brink of elimination.

Pittsburgh opened the game as good as the fans hoped. The first line was firing, burying 3 goals, and then things took a turn. The Islanders tilted the ice back in the second period, and despite a short-handed goal by Adam Foote, Guerin score to return the favor on the powerplay, and the Islanders stormed forward with momentum to even the series at two. Bob Sweeney led the charge with a 2 goal, 1 assist performance.
