This said, in a lot of ways i think this was true of the time, as well. I remember it being a big deal the first time Pittsburgh didn't make the playoffs, etc. As big stars start to retire, and new legends get drafted in by the non-playoff teams, I think the picture will start to evolve more.

Pessimistic me still thinks the Blues will be in the finals every single year though. Because why would any other teams be allowed to have fun? Stupid Blues and his stupid elite franchise.
