I think the main thing to consider too is that the playoffs are a fresh start. He's also on a team that was winning, and got better, by making an absurd trade, so there is arguably a better core around him than what he was performing with in Detroit. It's why I largely ignore a lot of what happens in pre-season, and try to give my team about a third to half a season to play before making any drastic changes. I still think regardless of how Roy does, your trade is great for what your team needs. Yeah all that is true, but still... look at Roy last season vs. playoffs or the time he won the cup before that. It's a real thing haha Also a vastly smaller sample size. Look at when people play backup goaltenders. They might have a short burst of decent numbers but long-term is starts to balance down to where everyone else is. It just LOOKS good because it's a small and contained process of stats. |

I guess it's not that crazy different, but the win loss ratio is.
