It’s called sleep mode Imagine having a home phone still, and some jerkoff keeps calling you incessantly when you're trying to sleep, and he's supposed to be sort of a "friend." Would you tolerate your friend calling you just to yell at you and intentionally wake you up after you've asked him several times to stop? Or do you rip the phone out of the wall, because fuck you, that's your problem deal with.
