Barrasso didn't exactly give him a good chance in any season so far.
I don't really know of many goaltenders on the site who are as highly rated as Fuhr outside of Brodeur.
I think the trade makes sense if you looked at this trade as part 2 of 2 or even part 2 of 3, if Pens turns and moves out Barrasso for a middle piece next.
Lemieux and Jagr trickle down becomes:
Forsberg, Chelios, Yashin, Fuhr, Foote, Kvartalnov, Tocchet, Ricci.
The only piece I really go "huh?" on is why he would move an 81D to Whalers for Puppa, when he already has Dafoe and Barrasso.
