I think Daigle could be one of the most misanalyzed prospects of all time. Think his (and Patrik Stefan's) careers were destroyed by concussions. Really wonder how that affects athlete development, especially when we know the initial stages are so vital (including 17-20 in terms of playing professionally). Could be wrong though, just my guess. Daigle had concussions? Thought he just had no heart and just partied and drove his Ferrari around lol. Kind of crazy he had such a bad career then you look at his stats and he played for Minnesota and put up 51 points lol in 2003-04 I don't think they were documented well / ignored by a desperate team at the time. My grandpa was a massive Sens fan, and I just remember him telling me he got hit a few times and was never the same, but you could see the talent at first. |

This could totally come with the whole thing that happens when you rush people into superstardom before they are ready - if he wasn't fully physically prepared for the bigger guys, it might have affected everything about his game, from his confidence, to his mental toughness. Just all of it. Factor in the fact that he was probably told since he was 10 he was the next Wayne Gretzky or some shit, he was probably a psychological trainwreck. |
