I doubt it. The holes it creates in Philly's line up just to get Messier. You basically have 1 good forward line of Eklund-Messier-Mellanby and the rest are a bunch of plugs save for maybe Kerr, but he's done in 2 seasons.

But that's a lot of teams on this site. And that team has a 95 overall Messier that can be traded for a few high 80s/90overall guys if that team wanted to unload Messier, easily.

That team both is probably a mid-pack roster and has an 88 goaltender and the 3rd best player on the site. I guess I just don't see what the issue is in having someone acquire a 95 overall player.

That's not the issue though... The issue is gutting an entire team for one 95 overall player.

Even if Philly gets Rucinsky, Rolston, Perrault, Czerkawski or Knuble, etc. at 16th in the draft, that's still crap... And they wouldn't get that either cuz Edmonton's taking their 1st in this deal too.

It's not that these players aren't valuable cuz they are, but 5-6+ 80+ overall players for one guy is crazy. Not to mention that I find it absolutely hilarious that I was told directly by Oilers that I wasn't offered to take a 2nd team out of fear I would try to make a deal that would wreck the league like this, yet the first deal he posts with a non-GM team is exactly that, and the complete opposite of what I would do with a non-GM team, if I had gotten one.

I think we should introduce a rule where teams say if they want/need their trades to be reviewed. New members (to hockey sims in general) should automatically have to be evaluated, but from my understanding, these are two GMs with nearly a decade of experience. If they make a bad trade, it's on them at this point.

We just shouldn't be able to go strip mine non-GM teams for their depth by dangling a 95 in front of them and leaving them with, effectively, 2 really good players, in this case Messier & Hextall, and virtually nothing else.
