Only Kruze would think this trade is bad for Philly lmao I doubt it. The holes it creates in Philly's line up just to get Messier. You basically have 1 good forward line of Eklund-Messier-Mellanby and the rest are a bunch of plugs save for maybe Kerr, but he's done in 2 seasons.

And? I think Messier on the Flyers would attract people more than a bunch of mid guys that mean shit all to anybody now.

And if we get a Philly fan, he can go "hey Edmonton Oilers I liked a lot of the guys you got for Messier, can I get them back?" and he'd be like "yeah, let's make a trade." Man. Just imagine the possibilities of what allowing people to make trades can do?! What craziness.

Just imagine the possibilities of what allowing people to make trades can do?! What craziness. Not if he disperses them and trades them elsewhere cuz others want some of those players too. Shit... And even Kerr's gone in this deal too. So their team would be: Eklund 86 - Messier 95 - Mellanby 83 Berube 80 - Craven 82 - Sutter 79 Smith 77 - Johnson 78 - Simon 77 _____ - Horacek 76 - Kordic 76 Samuelsson 79 - Murphy 83 Baron 78 - Carkner 77 Therien 77 - Rumble 77 Hextall 88 Wregget 85 Not to mention it leaves them players short up front, cuz Lacombe is retiring, but who would want that team? I know I sure as hell wouldn't.

And that team has a 95 overall Messier that can be traded for a few high 80s/90overall guys if that team wanted to unload Messier, easily. That team both is probably a mid-pack roster and has an 88 goaltender and the 3rd best player on the site. I guess I just don't see what the issue is in having someone acquire a 95 overall player.

That's not the issue though... The issue is gutting an entire team for one 95 overall player. Even if Philly gets Rucinsky, Rolston, Perrault, Czerkawski or Knuble, etc. at 16th in the draft, that's still crap... And they wouldn't get that either cuz Edmonton's taking their 1st in this deal too.

Alright, your opinion has been noted. Thank you. It's not that these players aren't valuable cuz they are, but 5-6+ 80+ overall players for one guy is crazy. Not to mention that I find it absolutely hilarious that I was told directly by Oilers that I wasn't offered to take a 2nd team out of fear I would try to make a deal that would wreck the league like this, yet the first deal he posts with a non-GM team is exactly that, and the complete opposite of what I would do with a non-GM team, if I had gotten one.

I think we should introduce a rule where teams say if they want/need their trades to be reviewed. New members (to hockey sims in general) should automatically have to be evaluated, but from my understanding, these are two GMs with nearly a decade of experience. If they make a bad trade, it's on them at this point.

We just shouldn't be able to go strip mine non-GM teams for their depth by dangling a 95 in front of them and leaving them with, effectively, 2 really good players, in this case Messier & Hextall, and virtually nothing else.

We have both debated it enough publicly.
