At the beginning of the season, former Red Wing, Doug Shedden announced he would be retiring at the end of the season. He started the season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, but both organizations agreed he deserved one last shot at the Stanley Cup, and the Leafs were focusing on rebuilding. In an effort to make his wish come true, the Leafs traded Shedden to the Red Wings on December 18th, 1990. He started off slow, but in his third game with the Wings, he recorded two assists in a 6-2 win over the Jets. Since arriving in Detroit, Shedden had 8 goals, and 23 assists in the regular season. In the nine games he played during the playoffs he had two goals and two assists. He wasnt able to win a cup, but he definitely left his heart on the ice for the city of Detroit. Thank You, Doug Shedden!

My hope of hopes is that one day, Doug Shedden googles himself and finds this page and gets completely confused.
