Game Summary:
First game of the series at home for Pittsburgh and it's just what the doctor ordered. A blitz 6-2 opening period put the Wild on their heels and they never recovered. A good thing to look at for Minnesota is scoring 2 goals per period, just chugging along, doing what they can. But the scoring power out of the game is what really locked it down. Shots ended at 36-34 for the Wild, but Claude and Mario Lemieux combined for 10 points in this onslaught.

Game Summary:
Pittsburgh didn't have a chance, and when I say that I mean, really, truly did not have a chance. After games featuring combined 60-70 shots, the Wild outshot the Pens in this game 19 to 17. It was, through and through, a clogged up neutral zone defensive game. And that's all because the Wild scored 2 powerplay goals in the first, added 2 even-strength marker and Shut. It. Down. Prospal earned first star for his 3 point night and the Wild take the series lead.

Game Summary:
The Penguins finally got some shots on net, and outshot the Wild 37-25, but sometimes you just get goalie'd and that's what happened in this game when Roberto stood on his head when it mattered the most. He faced 28 shots through the final 40 minutes of play, but every chance the Pens gave the Wild, they buried it. Kapanen, Orszagh and Ruutu combined for 8 points on the night. Andreychuk was the leading charge for the Pens offense with 2 goals in this outing. The series now heads back to Pittsburgh where they will hope home ice will get the series closer.

Game Summary:
There were some significantly dangerous moments in this game that made it look like the Pens were heading back to Minnesota for Game 6. They traded back and forth, and a goal with 12 seconds left in the first by Prospal put Minnesota ahead. In the second period, the Wild put their D back to work, limiting the Pens to just 6 shots. Then the third happened. The "Wild" and chaotic third. It opened with a PPG by Andreychuk - arguably the Pens most offensive player in this series. Then Amonte struck 30 seconds later and suddenly the Wild are down by 1. Two minutes later, who else? Demitra buries it to draw even. Then the clutch Kapanen puts them up a goal 90 seconds later. Not so fast. Mario is back on the ice, and first, his lines buries it tie it up. At the end of their shift, Claude takes a feed from Lucky Luc and suddenly the Pens are back up top. But Minnesota would not let the winds out of their sails. Vinny Lecavalier takes a sweet feed from Stumpel to tie it up. Back and forth we go. But with under 7 to play, the hero of the day arrives in the form of Ladislav Nagy. The Wild hung on for the rest of the period, surviving a 3 minute goalie-pulled attack from the Pens, but they locked it down. Robitaille's 4 point night could not get his team the win. And the Minnesota Wild have won their first ever NHL90 Stanley Cup!
