Negotiations for this started back at the trade deadline, just needed a few more pieces to fall in to place, and here we are. Detroit does what they've been doing and trades their future for brief commercial like breaks of happiness, while Whalers and Rangers picks up depth and longevity.

I think with a deal of this magnitude we really need to know exactly which team is your primary. Is it Detroit or Hartford? After the Malkin-pick trade, I disagree with this stance. Until this is an issue, it's not an issue. |

Does that pick have Crosby protection? Funny enough, I think Oilers tried to add Crosby protection, and that would have been a nah for me protecting against Ovechkin AND Crosby, and he'd rather have protected Ovi. As everyone sees worked out quite well for him. |

The only time protection was ever mentioned was Ovechkin because he was the only player (at the time) that I would legitimately regret missing out on. I don't care about overalls, just names.
