Like this trade. We know these overalls, we know who the pick is, etc. (It was an 84 forward, or an 85 goalie - not good value for Marleau) And that is NOT comparable to this trade where these picks could technically become Evgeni Malkin AND Alex Ovechkin.


The Buffalo-Philly trade probably could have gone through, in my opinion, but Philly walked away from that, it was not formally rejected, so it's moot.

How the fuck was Pitkanen still available at 11th? I guess that just furthers my point that draft picks are a crapshoot, one way or another.

(Though I would still argue an 88 for twice as long is worth more than 82 and 81 forwards. This coming from a team that could actually, desperately use 82 and 81 forwards.
