The risk/reward of this trade is pretty interesting. Those picks could be decentish depth or substantial pieces. Cool trade.

Tuesday: "Everyone post a trade block when you are moving someone exceptional!" Wednesday: "Holy shit, when you post a trade block when you are moving someone exceptional, you get amazing offers!" Thursday: (Mario Lemieux is traded without a single person being told he is being traded)
I might actually care if this was not returning him to Pittsburgh, but since that is what this trade is all about, I will shut up and leave Britney alone.

I am curious though. Mighty Ducks of Anaheim would you have posted a trade block? I feel like a lot of people would've taken a crack at him.

I don't think this is nearly enough for Lemieux I think the picks being separated and one being in 03 when the Pens are on their downswing, theoretically, is a decent bonus. It's sort of a "gift that keeps on giving" by that point. Caps can also turn those into other assets and would still have a 90 forward 2 years after Lemieux retires. I think it's good enough. Probably right though, might not be the elite amount he could get, but if they were only going to negotiate with each other, and he kept Jagr, it kind of makes sense.

I would be more comfortable with another pick too. If you are still okay with the deal even without, we can probably process it for the sim, then wait for Pens to finalize the added pick. He didn't sound like he cared about his picks in the Shoutbox, but at the same time, we can't really force him to move a pick just to put a trade through for deadline if he would have otherwise rejected it or traded the pick or something. But if he is going to be gone for 4 days again, we can't really hold up the trade that long either, so...yeah. (I haven't really slept yet from last night, so if that turned into abject gibberish, I apologize - and may God have mercy on my soul)

I am fine with that. TRADE FINALIZED WITH 3 PICKS Pittsburgh Penguins please confirm if you will also add the 1996 1st to the deal. I think Yashin having 45 points to Lemieux's 7th in league scoring would warrant one more to toss on top.
