Après de longues délibérations, les Nordiques de Québec s'installent au Colorado. Malgré la victoire de la coupe Stanley et l'offre de 50% de rabais sur la poutine lors de nos matchs, nous n'avions en moyenne que 12 partisans lors des finales de la coupe Stanley. Avec une telle démonstration, nous ne serons pas en mesure de soutenir suffisamment d'argent pour payer nos joueurs et notre personnel. Ainsi, nous avons pris la décision de déménager dans le Colorado et à partir de maintenant, nous serons connus sous le nom d'Avalanche du Colorado.

It has come to our attention here at the front office of the Hartford Whalers that we are not creating enough salary to stay afloat. Therefore we have made the incredibly difficult decision to leave Hartford and move to Colorado where we will be known as the Colorado Avalanche. Thank you to Hartford for all the memories!
