That said, I have always said I am not in this for the overalls, or the wins, so if you guys want to throw a clause in there that for as long as Hejduk (and Drury too if you want) are on my team their overalls lowered by 4, I'm all for that. I'm just in it to collect names.

It is so funny when people bring up that trade so much without really knowing what happened. Edmonton was forced into a situation because of the bad drafting they had done that they needed to pick up a good two way defenseman and free up some money to sign lol. Now this is the bad part They needed to cut payroll to pick up the worst player Oilers have ever had in Lucic. Larsson is still playing for the Oilers as a assistant captain and clubhouse leader and by the time his career in Edmonton is done Hall will have probably played for many teams as he is a very selfish player and will spend the majority of his career on DL

They didn't need to cut payroll, trading Hall to make space for Lucic was always regarded as a garbage move. They thought Larsson was going to be a top pairing dman while the rest of the NHL knew he'd only be a top 4 guy. No matter how you look at Hall, he is still an unbelievable talent that should have fetched far more than Larsson.

Don't even get me started on the Eberle trade as well.

yeah it doesn't matter if they "needed" to do it (they didn't, Lucic was a mistake), you still get value for your elite players. Even when they added Lucic to the actual trade to discuss it no one could defend the choice lol.
